There is so much talk about weight loss in the fitness world – how to do it, what foods to eat,
and how to train.
To be sure, these things are important – we need to know what we have to do to get to our
end goals.
But, one factor is often overlooked by many. Have you ever wondered why some people
achieve lasting results where others spin their wheels for years, never getting anywhere?
Are these people genetically superior? Or maybe they’ve stumbled upon a superior diet or
training protocol?
It’s neither of these things. What’s missing for most people – the most important factor – is
consistency.

Consistency: The Cornerstone of Great Fitness

Often, the simplest things deliver the most incredible results if we apply them consistently.
You don’t need to find the best diet or training plan. You don’t need the latest fat-burner. And
you certainly don’t need any ‘weight loss secrets.’
The problem most people have is they want incredible results yesterday. Part of the problem
is the many sleazy marketers and gurus out there who promise the impossible.
What you need is to adhere to your training and nutrition protocols. Even if your plan isn’t the
best (no plan ever is), you’ll be amazed at the results so long as you stick with it for a long
time and apply yourself.

For example, if you make small changes to your nutrition and start eating fewer calories, you
won’t notice immediate results. But stretch that over a month, six months, or a year. Now
we’re talking.
In a month, that could be 4 to 6 pounds of weight loss. In four months, you’ll be looking at
20+ pounds lost. In a year? Well, some people have managed to lose upward of 100 pounds
in that time.
This is a sustainable weight loss. It’s easy to adhere to it and make it part of your lifestyle.
The best part is, you don’t need massive action to get started. All you need is to make small
tweaks to your diet.
How does one eat an elephant? One bite at a time.
